Worldschooling in the Philippines: A Family Adventure in Siargao

Sharing is caring!

Looking for a unique way to explore the Philippines with your kids? This July, we’re partnering with Hayag Journey to host a hands-on, heart-filled Siargao Family Adventure—designed especially for families who love learning through travel, connection, and real-life experience.

Whether you’re full-time worldschooling or just diving into family travel in the Philippines, this is your chance to explore Siargao with kids in a way that goes beyond the guidebooks.

We’ll spend a week discovering the best of Siargao—its tidal pools, hidden lagoons, organic farms, and warm community—with a group of other curious families who are up for adventure.

What to expect:

Island arrival & easy hellos
You’ll land on island time with a welcome brunch and a relaxed pace—perfect for kids to settle in and parents to take a deep breath.

Explore Siargao’s iconic spots
From Magpupungko Tidal Pools to Pacifico Beach and Sugba Lagoon, this land tour is full of wild, natural beauty—and yes, lots of places for kids to splash, climb, and explore.

Farm, cook & create
Spend a day harvesting ingredients, cooking local dishes, and learning traditional Filipino crafts. It’s messy, meaningful, and a chance to connect with Siargao’s culture in a real way.

Family surf lessons + a mangrove firefly cruise
Catch some gentle waves together (no experience needed) and end the day drifting through mangroves under the stars—fireflies included.

Sohoton Cove exploration
This off-the-beaten-path gem is a paradise of caves, blue lagoons, and snorkeling spots. It’s a full day of nature, fun, and discovering what the Philippines has to offer beyond the usual tourist trail.

Island hopping day
Pristine beaches, crystal-clear water, and plenty of time to explore, swim, and soak it all in as a family.

A gentle goodbye
We’ll wrap things up with a reflection circle and shared breakfast before heading off with new memories (and probably a few grains of sand in your bags).

This isn’t a packaged tour. It’s a week of intentional travel, where families come together to slow down, learn from the land, and share meaningful experiences. If you’re worldschooling in the Philippines—or simply looking to explore Siargao with kids in a deeper way—this is a beautiful opportunity to do just that.
